It’s been so long since I visited Derris Kharlan in-game that I forgot what it looked like, and had to dredge up some screenshots. But that’s okay. You all know I’m in the habit of making shit up anyway if there are holes in the story, or world-building, or dungeon design, or--when I feel like it. I’m sure you’ll deal.

I’ve got a whooooole mythology worked out for this world, of course. Pre-”history” mythology, since, you know, Cruxis. I also have a batshit fangirly string of ideas for how to connect the world of ToS to the world of Berseria, but that’s another story.

I’m probably not the only one who reasoned something like that out, but whatever.

More notes: I literally came up with this title two minutes before posting. This is obviously unfinished, but I do have more, and will probably add to it when I'm bored because I've got most of the plot written out (for once). Not a guarantee, just like... every two years or so I might add more. :P

I've wanted badly to answer the question "Why might Genis switch sides?" for years, and the answer is about what you'd expect. I started writing this some time last September, and figured I may as well put it up.

Notes: believe it or not, this is all I've got after... how many months? Comes of rewriting the same material five times, I guess, and ditching a whole lot of material that sucked. Or that I thought sucked. Who the hell even knows anymore? Also, even though I have further scenes written, they're hand written, and it isn't quite time yet to put them in.

Fair warning: this needs a lot of work. It's going to have consistency issues, canon issues, factual issues with regards to medicine and how ancient/stone buildings might've stood up to earthquakes, all sorts of things I stopped researching to make myself write more instead of worrying.

Summary: none yet; this takes place a bit after the War of Wrath started, according to a timeline at the SWG which may or may not be precise. Fifty years is a long time for a war, but since I wrote or planned most of this before I saw other options, I'm just going with it.

That said, fair warning: this needs a lot of work. It's going to have consistency issues, canon issues, inaccuracies with say, medicine. I'm still undecided on a lot of elements like OCs, as well.

Author's Notes: I would like to speculate that all of Galadriel's brothers have been reborn by the fourth age, but for the sake of simplicity I decided I should only try writing one of them. Also, as usual: no beta, uncertain canon (how many possible timelines does Galadriel have again? I lost count), I'm new to these characters, and so forth.

Summary: Fourth Age. Galadriel has returned to Aman without her husband, and Finrod would like to know why.

Notes: Ages ago I wanted to write an AU in which Sarah survived the end of Suikoden III - barely - and inherited the wind rune, which would give her the means to take the fight right to the Circle Temple and the high priest. The end result would eventually be an uprising, during which she would confront him, and... I never did decide how that would work out, but it probably wouldn't end well! It didn't occur to me at the time that her plan was actually very similar to Luc's, and even her motivations - but that's more or less thematically appropriate.

I was kind of getting into this by the end, so who knows, maybe there'll be more - but don't count on it. I started it to give Rey something to read, but have lost my fanfic mojo for the most part.

Also? I am so out of practice with this canon, and I didn't even bother to check my facts. So sorry, Suiko fandom. My bad. I also used the manga version of certain events because I liked it better.

MERRY LATE CHRISTMAS reynardfox. Or is it EARLY?

On Hiatus

For various reasons to do with real life, this journal will be going on hiatus. It's temporary, but I have no idea when the stress will let up, or when (if?) I'll feel inspired to write fanfic again. Maybe in a week, or a month, or a year. Who knows! There are, after all, various Silmarillion characters I've recently developed an interest in.

Works-in-progress are on hold. I may be slow answering comments, but will try to continue to do so.
