Suikoden III: The Merits of Ale.
Jan. 9th, 2007 03:48 amCrappy instant fiction (the only kind!) dedicated to
reynardfox. :P
. . .
"I'm telling you," Percival said, turning his empty tankard in his hands, "She's got a thing for Salome. Doesn't take a genius to spot, old friend."
Borus cursed at him, slouched in the chair by the window with his head thrown back. "He'd court his horse first." He knocked a tankard to the ground trying to sit up and left another unsteady at the edge, peering red-eyed over the table. "He's-- too old for her!"
"And titled," Percy added. He snatched another drink from a passing tray and slid the mug across the table. "With large tracts of land."
"I'm ti--" the other knight stopped, tankard halfway to his mouth, and stared, horrified, over the top. "You-- you looked?"
Percy choked and heard - over what he knew was somewhat manic giggling - Borus slam his mug down.
"Damn you, Percival!"
All too easy, he'd have said, if only he could breathe.
"That does it." Even Borus had to laugh, rubbing his eyes as if to scour the vision from his brain. The tankard he left on the table, untouched. "Next time you pick up the tab."
. . .
See, I can't write the other idea, because YOU SHOULD. :P All you get is a crappy imitation, dear. XD
