Notes: comments on interpretation of the theme at the end. This was a difficult one for me. But this finishes my 30 Kisses claim as far as I know, so yay for that. Spoilers, etc., this takes place about a year and a half post-RD, maybe two, and kinda sorta picks up after The Worst of Villains, but not really. The initial plan was to link them, but now I think I've changed my mind.

Notes: the goal was to make it drabble-ish, so under 500 words. It's more angsty than my usual, and also probably not very new, but I'm two themes away from finishing this challenge - I have something in progress that can be used for dash, but this theme kept eluding me.

Notes: herein my lofty ambitions take a nosedive. Two things:

a) I take liberties with food cultivation and origin.

b) when I say "masque," I mean a production more like a play than a dance ball. I suppose that might've happened too, as it would in this scenario if I took it that far, but what I have in mind is the "political and social application of ... allegory" mentioned here and not shown AT ALL in the fic. :D Oh word limits~

Applying Gauntlet theme 4 - only dreamers destroy themselves, though it fits the original idea more than the result.
