[Suikoden V] Sun's Silver Blessing

runicloreAs you can see, I'm trying to make up for the last two weeks of inactivity. :D And since I finished Suikoden V last week, I figured I should take advantage of that! I'm pretty sure the canon is a bit borked, but I can't turn the game on right now to straighten things out. Oh well. Maybe next time.

"I can't get over how sweet he is." Haswar shifted her hold on the baby prince carefully from one arm to the other, and smoothed his hair back when his face scrunched up, tiny and pale pink, and almost intimidating - when he cried, it was difficult to calm him again. "I can already tell he'll favor Arshtat."
"He's noisy," Sialeeds said. "I'm up half the damned night whenever I have to--"
"Watch your language," Haswar interrupted, with a smile to soften the blow. Her cousin's expression darkened anyway. "He's a good boy. I'm glad we get the chance to spend so much time with him, and you should be too. Any day now..."
"Yeah." The younger woman let out an explosive sigh and slouched in her chair. She smiled cheekily when Haswar lifted a brow. "What, are we on display?" She propped her chin on her hand and turned to gaze out the window. "I know, I know. But I can take a little longer to grow into my regality, can't I? It's my sister they're aiming at the throne and all."
Haswar walked the prince over to the cradle and laid him gently to rest, brushing back the baby-soft silver of his hair again before turning back to the conversation. "Do you wish you were in her place, cousin?"
"Do you?" Sialeeds shrugged when Haswar shook her head. "Not for a million gold. The kid is lucky too, if you think about it," she continued, tilting her chin at the cradle. "If he'd been a girl instead, we'd never have a moment of peace."
Haswar followed her gaze. "If he were a girl... he would be dead."

It was the last line that inspired this, so I'm actually not that sorry that I may have messed up canon. :P
I was going to make this a bath scene, but it didn't work out. XD
